I’ve been very lax with the blogging. As my Alberta nemisis Mark McCawley keeps reminding me (here and here), I’m just not going deep enough. (and to Mark I say: thanks for prodding me and being that thorn in my blogging backside…I need it! and to the rest of you I say: tell me I’m in an idiot! ya’ll have been too quiet…)
So here’s the new plan: for the rest of July starting today I swear to blog twice a day. Yes that’s right! At least one Hal life update a day plus some other report revelavant to Peep culture. It will be a merciless onslaught of Hal’s everyday existence. Wait for it!
So: a book update – i’ve got about 275 pages down. Not bad. Some of it is very close to final version, some of it is in rougher shape. There are some serious gaps which I need to close, particularly in the realm of exploring more of Peep culture firsthand.
To that end this month I’ll be 1) monitoring my back alley with surveillance cameras 2) tracking W and then myself with GPS and 3) holding a meet Hal night when I invite everyone I’ve never met who is my Facebook friend, reads my blog or gets my Twitter feed to come by a bar and take a short quiz on what they know about Hal and have a beverage with me.
More on all this soon. I swear. Twice a day from now on. If I don’t do it, I’m counting on you to kick my butt. (Mark, you still out there?)

Yes, Hal, I’m still lurking out here in the Big Empty (Edmonton), packing frantically for my move Downtown (can’t go anywhere without one’s accumulated library of books, chapbooks, zines, and other assorted ephemera?) in a few weeks.
I have managed to drop by The Peep Diaries now and again. I like the changes. You are really beginning to close the gap between the private and the public Hal Niedzviecki. More photos. More videos. You’re really on to something here, Hal.
As for the rest of you still hiding behind your online handles: tsk, tsk. Come on out and play. The days of anonymously hiding behind an online name (mine is urbangraffito) is long gone.
Well, Hal, back to packing and typesetting UGX.
